This section will provide instruction on how to upload media into your DigitalOnQ management system.

Use the select folder button to open Windows Explorer. Navigate to the folder where the media is located that you want to upload.

Select the folder where the media assets are that you want to upload.

If there are sub folders under the folder you selected in the previous step select the check box next to Search Sub folders and click the Refresh Content button. This will display all the media assets in the top level folder as well as all the media assets in the sub folders. In this example all of the assets in the Audio, Images and Video sub folders will be returned.

If you have a device connected to your computer, such as a phone or tablet, this is the area where you can navigate the file structure of the device to select the media you would like to upload.

When the search results return they will be returned in either list mode of thumbnail mode. This is list mode.

Select the media assets you want to upload by clicking into the box in the upper left corner of the thumbnail representing the asset to upload. Once clicked a check mark will appear in the box and a thin light blue line will appear around the asset.

Enter in the case information for the assets.

  • Case Number - Mandatory field which must be entered prior to upload.
  • Case Date - Will populate with the current date. It can be changed to reflect the true case date.
  • Officer - This field will populate with your information. It can be changed if needed.
  • Classification - Should be entered at upload and can be changed later.
  • Involved 1 - Enter victim/suspect information
  • Involved 2 - Enter victim/suspect information
  • Location - Enter location address
  • Description - You may enter a description. This can be changed after upload.

Here you may add annotations to the media assets that are being uploaded. This can be beneficial in organizing your cases and having additional information to search on after the assets have been uploaded.

Once you have the media assets selected and the corresponding case information entered you will click on the Upload button.

DigtialOnQ processes the media asset(s) that are being uploaded. If the asset is not being transferred from its original source you will be required to provide a reason why the assets failed validation. In this example the victim provided the photos on a thumb drive that were transferred from a home security system.

After entering a reason click on the OK button and the assets will be uploaded.

Once the asset(s) have been uploaded you given a message indicating how many media file(s) were uploaded and where they were uploaded to.

You will then be returned to the upload window. The asset(s) that you uploaded will be highlighted in gray and you will no longer be able to interact with them. If there is other asset(s) that you would like to upload to another case you can select them and start the process over again.

Click the close button when you are done uploading asset(s)
